Matryoshka Tilda Dolls

As I promised in my previous blog post about the Mlyn handmade fare, I'm starting to expose those dolls here, at my virtual stand :)
I decided to start by exposing my Matryoshka (aslo known as Russian dolls or Babushka dolls) Tilda dolls.
I crafted them easily, in a burst of inspiration. I liked them. They are the first but I can say for sure that they are not the last ones you'll see.

Mlyn Fair, Minsk, Belarus, 2011, May

There was a big event in Minsk last week - the Mlyn (Mill) fair of handmade crafts. It took place at the National Exhibition Centre BelExpo, May 11 -15.

I was very glad to present my textile Tilda dolls at it.

I liked being at Mlyn very much indeed. I'm still under the impression of this event - it was so exciting to exhibit my Tilda toys...

The most important thing for me was that people really liked my handmade toys: they were coming to me, saying warm words about my Tildas, asking questions on the process of creating them, and taking photographs.

Besides of this, of no small importance was the fact that they were buying them :)

Dreams Come True or How Fairy Found Me

I wrote about the Wishes come true game when I became a Fairy.
Yesterday My Fairy finally found me!!! My dream came true!!!
Now I've got a lovely pet at my house - a beautiful sheep. I called her Shantee. She's so nice and delicate. Look at her:

As you can see Shantee has a toy of her own - a small boy Shantik.

Moreover, Shantee brought some gifts with her - a bar of delicious white chocolate and a bunch of tapes and ribbons.

And above all - my Fairy's name is Daria Yankovskaya (Lunara).

Easter Week (My Easter Tilda Dolls)

The Easter Week has just passed. In Belarus we celebrate two Easters - Catholic and Orthodox. Usually there are two weeks between them but this year both Catholic and Orthodox Easters were celebrated at the same day.

An exposition of handmade Easter attributes called "Easter Rain" had to be held during that week. I wanted to participate and expose some of my new Tilda dolls; but unfortunately the exposition was cancelled.

Nevertheless thanks to this blog I'm glad to show these Easter Tilda toys:
